Canadians can continue saying Thank You throughout December
TORONTO, ON — Thanks to tremendous generosity before and after Remembrance Day, ONroute’s partnership with Support Our Troops has been a major success so far, raising over $78,000 since launching November 1. This year’s campaign will continue through December, supporting the Support Our Troops Holiday Food Hamper Program.
Until December 31, the ONroute employees will continue wearing the symbolic Support Our Troops Yellow Ribbon and ask customers to donate $1 with each transaction.
“We have seen inspirational generosity and kindness towards others, truly exemplifying how grateful and appreciative Canadians are to those who serve, or have served, in the Canadian Armed Forces,” says Melanie Teed-Murch, Chief Executive Officer of ONroute. “We are proud to extend ONroute’s partnership with Support Our Troops to make a difference in the lives of the families this program touches this holiday season.”
Support Our Troops is the official charitable cause of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).It meets the unique needs and special challenges faced by members of the CAF community as a result of military service. Some of these challenges include dangers of the job, long absences from home and relocation across Canada and the world. Support Our Troops provides financial support and assistance to CAF members, Veterans, and their respective families in a number of important and often life-changing ways that are not provided by core public funding
The Support Our Troops Holiday Food Hamper program provides $100 to single members and couples, and $200 to families with children during the holidays. In 2020, ONroute raised nearly $49,000 in November alone, which helped support 285 military families in Ontario. The 2021ONroute campaign is expanding to two full months, starting November 1, and running through December 31.

The generosity from Canadians helps women, men and families face these unique challenges with hope, strength, and dignity. We appreciate your unwavering support.”
